How to remove tartar from teeth naturally

Did you know that, in addition to proper oral hygiene, some products help remove plaque? For example, a good way to deal with this is to eat fruits and vegetables.

A yellowish bacterial plaque that initially appears near the gums can spread to the surface of the teeth. At this point, it becomes more difficult to remove it with a simple toothbrush.

Whenever we eat very sweet, fatty, or refined foods, we facilitate the appearance of tartar on the teeth. This is not only a matter of aesthetics but also of health. Excess tartar causes inflammation of the gums, causing gingivitis, bleeding, to the loss of teeth. Natural remedies that help to remove tartar are numerous. Here are the most effective:

Baking soda and hydrogen peroxide

Soda whitens teeth, and peroxide eliminates bacteria. Together they are an ideal natural remedy for removing tartar and preventing yellowness of teeth.

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide (5 ml);
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda (10 g).


Preparation:

  • Put baking soda in a bowl and add a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide.
  • Mix well until you get a paste.
  • Apply it to your toothbrush and use it as regular toothpaste. Brush your teeth in a circular motion, especially near the gums.
  • Repeat this operation at least twice a week.

An apple a day

Removing tartar from your teeth is as easy as eating an apple. If possible, eat it with the peel and prefer red apples, as the green ones are a little sour. Eaten after a meal, this delicious fruit will help you keep a perfect smile.

The alternative is strawberries and melon. Both remove tartar, strengthen the gums and fight to bleed.


Lemon juice

Before explaining how to use it, we remind you that overuse becomes counterproductive. The acids in lemon juice can ruin your teeth if you use them without diluting them.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (20 ml);
  • 2 tablespoons of warm water (20 ml).

Preparation:

  • Put lemon juice and water in a cup. Mix them well.
  • Rinse your mouth with this solution for one minute.
  • Do not swallow and keep the solution in your mouth as long as possible.
  • At the end, rinse your mouth with clean water.

Avoid eating certain foods

Sugar is the number one enemy of our oral health. Due to its excessive consumption, not only the destruction of teeth occurs but also the formation of more tartar.

Flour also has no positive effect on teeth. Starch mixed with saliva creates a powerful acid that can stain tooth enamel. Later it starts to break down and leave it more exposed to oral bacteria. In the end, it is better to limit the consumption of refined flour products, sweets, and sugar.

Preventing tartar

Eat calcium-rich foods

Dairy products such as yogurt or cheese, almonds, and spinach are the main sources of this mineral salt. Regularly adding them to your diet will improve the health of your teeth and strengthen them from plaque.

Eat these raw vegetables

In addition to apples and strawberries, some vegetables can contribute to good oral health. Among them, we find carrots and celery. Eating them raw stimulates the production of saliva and protects teeth from bacteria.

Brush your teeth well

Most of the responsibility for the appearance of tartar lies in incomplete oral hygiene. Teeth should be cleaned at least twice a day (morning and evening).
